Happy New Year

May 2011 be a year to 'cultiver notre jardin' as per Voltaire

to take care of ourselves

and the ones we love

a year in which our selves and our ideas grow

And at times when life has us frazzled and stressed ...

may we be transformed by our good thoughts to such visions of serenity ...

May 2011 be a year in which your garden grows

  1. What lovely, lovely parameters you are setting here for the New Year!
May your garden always reflect the beauty of ideas, freedom and love,
    Happy New Year, Karin!

I wish you the loveliest spring when you finally come to Vienna,
    with the lilacs abloom!

  3. Karen, I very much like the garden metaphor, and think of it often, myself. I also recently saw it used in Mike Leigh's film, Another Year.

I wish you a very Happy New Year, and also thank you for stirring memories of a long ago visit to the Chelsea flower show.

  5. Hello, Karen! First I must thank you for taking me along on that magical Christmas window shopping tour in London! One year very soon, I am going to be there for real and hope we can walk those streets together! And your home should be .... if it is not already..featured in a magazine or home decorating book!
Would you believe that I had asked Santa for one of those country French flower carts...and he left me note that it was "in the mail" so to speak! I cannot wait to see it! The Chelsea Flower Show!!...one more London Bucket List item for me! Wishing you many blessings in 2011!
